The USS New York will be commissioned into military service with the US Navy in New York City on September 12th 2009. Exactly 8 years and a day after Al-Qaeda terrorists destroyed the World Trade Centers the very buildings themselves will be joining the fight against them.

It's kind of ironic that you posted this story just now. My son was wounded in a fire fight in Afghanistan this past weekend. He has a pretty nasty gunshot wound to his arm, with broken bones and nerve damage. All he can say is that we can't stop now, and this new ship shows that. Jodee
I responded to Jodee personally about this. She is a long time friend from my high school days. I hope anyone who reads this says a short prayer for her son to make a full and quick recovery from his injuries. Also I hope everyone appreciates the sacrifice that her son, and every man and woman in our armed services makes to defend all our freedoms.
