Nancy Pelosi Spews Again

I missed the Presidents speech last night. I was out on the golf course terrorizing innocent golf balls by hitting them into the water and then callously watching them drown. I don't need a ball with more distance and better spin, I need a golf ball that knows how to backstroke.

So I missed the Presidents speech, but thanks to Al Gore I can read the transcript on the internet. So I did. Then just because I'm a sick puppy who likes to go to bed feeling sad, tired and disgusted, I also read some of the Democratic rebuttal. I was right, it was sad, tired and disgusting.

True to form, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (from California) immediately used the President's speech as an opportunity to once again display to the whole nation her ignorance and her total lack of personal integrity:
"The president's frequent references to the terrorist attacks of September 11 show the weakness of his arguments," House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi said. "He is willing to exploit the sacred ground of 9/11, knowing that there is no connection between 9/11 and the war in Iraq."

Congresswoman! Please, It's time to stop talking and take a deep breath your brain needs the oxygen.

Powerline.com is reminding us that Joint Resolution 114 that was approved by Congress and the Senate in Oct 2002 contained:
Whereas members of al Qaida, an organization bearing responsibility for attacks on the United States, its citizens, and interests, including the attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, are known to be in Iraq;

Whereas Iraq continues to aid and harbor other international terrorist organizations, including organizations that threaten the lives and safety of United States citizens;

Granted Congresswoman Pelosi did vote against this resolution. But 81 of her fellow Democratic Congressmen joined with 215 Republican Congressmen to pass this resolution 296 - 113.

The next day this same resolution passed the Senate with a vote of 77 to 23. With certain notable Democrats voting in favor of the resolution: Daschle (D-SD), Feinstein (D-CA), Kerry (D-MA), Biden (D-DE).

In case the opinion of 81 fellow Democratic Congressmen and 28 Democratic Senators is not enough for Congresswoman Pelosi then SoCalPundit.com a fellow Bear Flag League Blogger is collecting more evidence that in spite of the Congresswoman's delusions - Iraq and 9-11 are both intimately connected.

One final thought Congresswoman, We are not at war with Afghanistan and Iraq. We are at war with murderous zealots who use terror as a weapon. We are fighting a Global War against Terrorism. It just so happens that so far our military is fighting that war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Very true. Thanks to Bush's vision, Iraq and Afghanistan are our allies in this war, not our enemies as they would have been if Pelosi had had her way.
